Red Wine of Sicily I.G.T.


MAJORA® is a wine of great structure and longevity. A careful selection and blend of different red grape varieties vinified 100%: Nero d'Avola, Syrah, Tannat e Petit Verdot. The vines grown as classic espalier, with a vine training system double cordon, have a density of implantation of 8,300 vinestocks per hectare. The vines are cultivated on medium calcareous terrain and no irrigation is done. The grapes yield per vinestock range between 0,8 and 1 kg.
MAJORA® is our top blend; a unique and unmistakable wine that has reached its highest level in harmony and balance.
Area of production
countryside Morsentini, Pachino, at the extreme tip of south eastern Sicily in Val di Noto (SR).
Vinification
the grapes are vinified separately with a long maceration of the must with the skins.
Maturation
in new casks (225 liters) where it matures for at least 18 months.
Refining
in bottles for at least 8-10 months.
Organoleptic Characteristics
- Color: intense red ruby with tints of garnet red and violet.
- Scent: ethereal, floral, intense, full with hints of plums, black berries, spices and noble wood.
- Taste: full bodied, harmonic, remarkably persistent in the mouth and justly tannic.
Alcoholic Content
14%.
Serving Temperature
18° C, in ample glasses for red bodied wines.
Gastronomic Accompaniment
optimal with red meat, wild fowl and mature cheese.
Duration
it benefits from a long permanence in the bottle, becoming more austere and mature after 3-4 years of harvest.
